FIELDTURF: OUR HISTORY

FieldTurf Australia has brought global experience and industry expertise to Australian soil as of early 2018. FieldTurf is part of Tarkett Sports, a world leader in athletic surfacing, offering a comprehensive portfolio of sports flooring solutions through its brands: FieldTurf, Beynon Sports, Renner Sports, EasyTurf, Desso, GrassMaster, PlayMaster, Tarkett Sports Indoor and Tarkett Sports Construction. With a wide range of products including artificial, hybrid and residential turf, running tracks, tennis courts and indoor athletic surfaces, the Tarkett Sports family offers the ultimate surface experience.

Tarkett Sports is a division of the Tarkett Group, a worldwide leader in innovative flooring and sports surface solutions, with a history spanning over 140 years.

Tarkett history starting back to the early 1880s in France and Sweden, with the creation and development of 3 flooring companies that will merge to create Tarkett Sommer in 1997: Sommer (1880), Allibert (1913) and Tarkett (1913). Ever since Tarkett has been pursuing his growth through different acquisitions in Europe, but also in North America, including FieldTurf in 2004.

In North America, FieldTurf were already dominating the artificial turf market, having installed the first long pilled artificial turf system back in 1994.

Investing heavily in Research and Development for artificial turf, FieldTurf has introduced engineered products that are tailor made for each segment of the business and owns numerous patents that protect the company’s product offering for sporting and non-sporting applications used worldwide.

With factories present in Calhoun, USA and Auchel, France, FieldTurf has set foot in Australia, acquiring Grassman Pty Ltd in 2018FieldTurf Australia was born.

Located in NSW, FieldTurf Australia delivers Australian made high-performance artificial turf systems for Sports, Landscape and Commercials applications, supplying synthetic turf into some of the most prestigious arenas, colleges, homes, resorts and schools. FieldTurf has been able to build upon Grassman’s experience and Australian market knowledge by fine-tuning European and North American ideas to accommodate Australia’s often volatile and harsh climate.

The combination of Tarkett’s sustainable vision and FieldTurf’s technological innovation has proven remarkable. This partnership’s duration has overseen 25,000 worldwide sports field installations, including 24 FIFA certified fields in Australia.
